How to deploy Remix to AWS

Deploy a Remix application on ECS Fargate behind an Application Load Balancer in your AWS account with Ravion, including autoscaling, HTTPS, and CI/CD.

Prerequisites

• A Git repository containing your application and its production build command.
• A Ravion account with your AWS account connected. Start free at Ravion signup.
• The Ravion CLI installed and authenticated. See CLI installation.

The examples use my-org/my-app as a placeholder. Replace it with your repository before applying the config.

Configure the deployment

Ravion provisions the VPC, cluster, service, and ALB in your AWS account.

This example uses Railpack for the build. Use build_source: dockerfile instead when you need a custom Dockerfile.

For the current Remix Vite workflow, npm run build creates build/server/index.js and build/client. Start the server with npm start or your adapter’s documented start command.

Set runtime configuration in environment_variables and keep secrets in secrets. Use the port supplied by ECS through PORT.

Apply and connect your domain
